Snippet and Ink just planned my (theoretical/future/non-existent) wedding! Minus the hay bales..we're good to go. I love the chandelier in the tree, and the lighting...so gorgeous. Pure genius this woman..definitely a daily read.

Friday Music

This CD is one my best recent music purchases. Ernie was amazing live, his voice is ridiculous. I particularly fancy "Something's come over me" , "When the lights go down", and his cover of Mr. Joel's "And so it goes." I just said fancy..don't worry about it.
Also, his name is Ernie, which is legit,also he isn't signed, so give him money, and also he likes Dave Barnes. I think I've provided enough reasoning for the purchase..just let it happen.

American Idol

There was a blood curdling scream in my apartment that could be heard throughout Provo last night. And, that was just for Jason Castro...hallelujah is right. Although I saw it coming, our little Archie came in second. Cook has been growing on me lately-this may be solely based on his looks-so I wasn't entirely disappointed. Archuleta's duet with OneRepublic was SICK though, you can't deny him that. Oh, and George Michael-you're not relevant anymore, and you should probably be in jail for exposing yourself or something of the like..seriously where do they get these people?

There was unsightly belly exposure at the end.. and that just ain't right.

At least my Tueday and Wednesday nights will be free again..until next January.

Just throwin' it out there

I don't ask for much..either a big man who can cook, or a big man who can play the guitar and sing. Having both would be overwhelming, but entirely welcomed.

A few weeks ago, the gals and I teenybopped it up in Murray to see little Archie's hometown visit..... ...then later that night I got my acoustic music fix with Ernie Halter and Josh Hoge.

Minus the jeans..yes please. Everyone questions my sanity, but Josh meets the aforementioned criteria, and thus is included on my yes list.

Also included on my yes list...
I realized my attraction to mr. flay while watching him grill on his rooftop deck..and we all know how i feel about decks..so this attraction may be called into question.

Regardless, tongs or picks are most definitely in order.

Patio Lighting

I was flipping through MS outdoor living..and came across this fabulous little lighting trick. That is VELLUM clipped over white Christmas lights...SO genius Martha.. you may have a penchant for illegal insider trading..but you sure know how to light my patio.

The Caj....

In last month's InStyle they featured a designer for J. Crew who said she picks out a different J. Crew cashmere cardigan every day, and puts her outfits together according to that color. Oh, how I covet all fourteen colors of you. Too rich for my blood, but if your blood has some gold in it, go to town here.

27 Dresses

Katherine Heigl is quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses, and 27 Dresses only solidified her place in my proverbial favorite actresses book. This may or may not be because I related to her character, Jane-minus the pushover part-but I LOVED this movie. This also may or may not have been influenced by her fashion in EVERY single scene. Even my friends started saying..oh that is such a Courtney outfit. Isawitin may help me in my outfit mockery. It solidified our Anthropologie guesses in every scene as well.

Weddin'

After my entire post dedicated to Jenna Bush, I am required to post about her wedding last weekend. Oscar de la Renta goodness...I am officially obsessed with the simplicity of this dress.

This is so dreamy to me..out in the wildflowers at sunset...Honestly?..bravo Jenna..bravo. If I happened to be the President's daughter, I would do the same. I mean if my father was still mayor pro-tem I would most definitely forego the pomp and circumstance of marrying at Round Rock City Hall and opt for a more private, casual ceremony.

Care texted me to tell me the pictures were up on Sunday-we have our mother/daughter priorities straight-and the first thing we both said was that the cake was leaning. It was a muggy day in Texas, so I'll let this one slide.

Picked up these babies in brown/sage for $30 yesterday at Flower Basket...that's about 80% off..I was required to get them.

I'm 90% sure that the main reason I go to yoga is for shavasna..or a glorified nap. As soon as I was gettin' my om and my tranquility on last night during shavasna, the teacher started ringing bells over and over. Coupled with the freaky soothing Asian music and "melting into the ground"..those bells sent me into the most hippie, tripped out, content place I have ever been. I did rock the dancer's pose last night though..see above...maybe I will be a yogi afterall, and not just a yoga napper.

Care does Utah

Care came up a few weeks ago for the weekend to celebrate Carly's masters of public administration. Carly is legit, she doesn't mess around. Anyway, Care and I ate entirely too much, had sleepovers, and drove around her old stomping grounds. Food consumed: Cafe Rio, Macaroni Grill, Kneader's, Magleby's, and Bajio's..did I mention she was only here for four days? We like our food.
